Course Description

Advanced Photography 2 Credits

Not Offered in 2012-2013

PHOTOGRAPHY I

This course is for students who have completed Photography I and who have mastered basic photography skills and want to continue to develop their skills and increase their knowledge in the field. Students will be experimenting with a variety of processes in the darkroom, such as Solarizing, painting with Developer, and combining negatives.  Outside of the darkroom, you will learn about photographic lighting and will experiment with dyeing and hand-tinting black and white prints.  Students will be expected to apply the concepts and skills they learned in Photography I in greater depth to the new assignments and techniques they will be learning in this course.  Students will continue to learn about the work of photographers in the field by doing research and giving a presentation to the class on the work of a famous photographer of their choice.  Although not required, it would be helpful if students have use of a manual or automatic 35mm camera that uses 35mm film.  Students who do not have access to a camera may borrow one from the school for a $10.00 maintenance fee.  The school may provide financial assistance towards these fees for students on free or reduced lunch.
