Acting 1 explores basic modern acting methods and approaches.  Drawing from the practices of several acting theorists, including Stanislavski, Meisner and Linklater, this course will help students develop a practical acting technique that can be used in performances and auditions outside of class.  Students should come prepared for a high-energy course that will explore questions of stage fright, concentration, character analysis and performance work.  Material from the course will come from a wide array of plays and genres.
