Course Description

Wood Technology 2 522B 2 Credits

PREREQUISITE: WOOD TECHNOLOGY 1

This course is a continuation of the concepts covered in Wood Technology 1.  Students will learn to hand cut dovetails and build a small box as their first project, and then build on their knowledge of basic tool use by working with advanced machine operations in designing and building their second project. An in-depth study of the wood industry will include the concepts of architectural styles and millwork, material testing, furniture design and forestry.  Approximately 70% of class time will be devoted to project design and lab work.
