NOTE: This course comprises the third and fourth trimesters of the French/Novice curriculum. Students must pass an oral proficiency test at the end of this course.

This course is designed for high school students, grades 9-12, wishing to continue the study of French. The prerequisite course is French 1A, although upon special recommendation by the prior French teacher and approval by the Department Head, students from courses other than the above may be enrolled. Emphasis continues to be placed on developing oral proficiency and listening comprehension; reading and writing skills will be reinforced and cultural aspects of the language will be introduced regularly. Homework is to be expected daily. Oral Proficiency will be stressed and will be a major component of students’ grades. Placement in Intermediate I or Intermediate I Honors will be determined by teacher recommendation.
