On May 20, 2011, Team ARHS, including eleven students, participated in the Ludlow Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The students had met weekly on Tuesday afternoons to talk about and plan for fundraising, learn about Relay for Life, hear from a cancer survivor, and take lots of walks to prepare. Team ARHS arrived at the event with enthusiasm, the skills to process and support other team members, some of whom lost loved ones recently, and the will to walk! A member from Team ARHS was walking at all times during the seven hour event, though they often walked in groups, with some members walking up to eleven miles! Team ARHS laughed, walked, sang, danced, cried, listened, hugged, and supported others. The group participants were fabulously appropriate at all times and have much to be proud of!
