Superintendent Search Process, 2008-2009
General Information
Our school district is now in the process of searching for a new Superintendent of Schools to begin work in July 2009. Consultant Jacqueline Roy of J.A. Roy Associates has been hired to assist the Regional School Committee in this search process. Ms. Roy began her work by helping the community define the qualities, skills and experience that the public is looking for in a Superintendent. From September 15 to September 17, Ms. Roy met with approximately 20 focus groups representing a broad range of constituencies within the district.
As demonstrated in the timeline, Ms. Roy worked with the School Committee to develop a leadership profile, along with a networking and advertising plan for the position. The position has been advertised in Education Week and will be further promoted in other local, regional, and national publications in the coming weeks. The application form is now available. The deadline for receipt of applications is December 15, 2008.
Visits of finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools will occur in late February and early March, at which time the School Committee again encourages the community to participate in meetings with the finalists. Please continue to check this site for updates as the search process unfolds throughout the year. We deeply appreciate your participation in this important endeavor.
