Dear Everyone Learning at Amherst, Regional, and Pelham Schools (ARPS):
Autumn is here! Open Houses have begun. Activities and athletics are in full swing. Students are immersed in their learning. Routines are established. What a wonderful time of year.
Last weekend, I was able to attend a few of the many, many events going on across the districts. The Amherst Cross Country Invitational drew runners from across the Commonwealth and it was an event characterized by energy, spirit, and teamwork. The benefit concert for New Orleans was a tremendous success; and what makes it so tremendous was that the students were the leaders and organizers. How refreshing to see our students behind the scenes--engaged in months of detailed planning--and performing. It was just as refreshing and encouraging to hear the students from New Orleans discuss their ReThink New Orleans project. As always, congratulations to the adults, teachers, parents, and volunteers who also work behind the scenes and work well after the school day-- everyday--to insure that these meaningful experiences continue for our kids .
