About Us

The Amherst Regional Public Schools (ARPS) are located in the Pioneer Valleyof Western Massachusetts. The area is rich in cultural, recreationaland academic activities and opportunities. Our mission is the academicachievement of every student learning in a system dedicated to socialjustice and multiculturalism.

The school system educates a diverse population of approximately 2790 students, including native speakers of more than 38 languages. Threeelementary schools are located in the town of Amherst and one in thetown of Pelham. Our middle school and high school are located in thetown of Amherst, and draw students from the towns of Amherst and Pelham,as well as Leverett and Shutesbury.

The ARPS school districts are nut free schools. The district has implemented allergy aware guidelines that include a number of specific points designed to provide a higher degree of safety for all of our students.  The guidelines also outline specific responsibilities for all of us to help achieve this goal. For more information, please refer to the district Allergy Awareness Guidelines.The Central Office for the districtis located in the Amherst Regional Middle School building at 170 Chestnut Street inAmherst.
