By Olin, Ayman, Adam, Emma, Nuria, & Evelyn
On our visit we learned about all the services that are available at Grace Episcopal Church. There is a service each night of the week except for Mondays. There are two Sunday Masses at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM and the choir sings during these services. Grace Church has three books that are used during services, one is called The Book of Common Prayer. It used to study during worship services. Lift Every Voice and Sing which is an African American song book, and The Hymnal, a standard songbook used at Grace Church.

Baptism-The members of the church have their baptisms in the font. The font is shaped like an octagon. The eight sides of the font represent the eight days of a beginning of a new life. They get water from the font and pour it onto his or her head. When the water is poured onto a person’s head a priest or bishop makes the sign of a cross on that person’s forehead to show their religion. They use chrism oil to make the cross.
.
Funerals-The funerals are held in the church. The coffin is presented on the table in the front of the church. The color of the cloth on the table is changed every year as a result of any special day.
Weddings-The weddings are also held in the church. They have weddings almost every other Sunday.
Other Services- On Tuesday at 8:15 AM they have the Holy Eucharist. On Wednesday at 11:30 AM they have the Holy Eucharist rite 1. On Thursday at 7:00 PM they have a healing service. On Friday at 5:30 PM Holy Eucharist and the Evensong.
