Homes ( where they lived )

African Americans settled throughout the town of Amherst.

They settled on:

  • Railroad St. 

  • McClellan and Beston Street area

  • Northampton Rd. 

  • Hazel Ave.      AND

  • Baker St. Region.

  • There were also apartment houses on North Pleasant and Main that they would rent to live in with another family.
