African Americans settled throughout the town of Amherst.
They settled on:
Railroad St.
McClellan and Beston Street area
Northampton Rd.
Hazel Ave. AND
Baker St. Region.
There were also apartment houses on North Pleasant and Main that they would rent to live in with another family.
