Henry Jackson

                 Henry Jackson was one of the many people who helped abduct Angeline Palmer from a home that was going to sell her into slavery.  Before Henry Jackson worked in the freight hauling business, and for the Hills Hat factory, he was also a stable hand. He also worked for Sheriff Frink who had helped with the 'kidnapping'. He was schooled in East Amherst. Henry Jackson married twice, his first wife was Celia . She died of consumption on the January 11, 1851. His second wife was the widow of Lewis B. Frazier (another Angeline kidnapper), Olive Prutt Jackson.   Olive Prutt Jackson's funeral was held in Zion Chapel in Amherst.  Between 1866-1870 he purchased land on Railroad Street and bought shares in First National  Bank.  He was born on October 27, 1818 and died in January 1902.
