Open Threats

Open threats were another cause of the Rebellion. The government made  threats to the farmers rebelling against new laws, such as the tax rules. There were other rules like the voting rule. This law said that lower class people such as farmers could not vote. This was another cause of anger to the farmers. The government also threatened to  foreclose the farmers  farms because they were bankrupt  and could not pay the money to the state. These threats scared the farmers at first, but then they realized that they were nothing, and only angered the farmers more. Although some farmers went to jail, lost their farms, or were killed, the others kept on rebelling.
