Shays Rebellion Court Closings

 

 

      Daniel Shays and his followers, called regulators, closed courts because the Massachusetts government was making judgments about peoples debt. People were losing their farms and money.  They were plowing over their crops because they were worthless. Shays and others were preventing the sittings of county courts.
