The Governments Impression
A group of farmers did more then just aggravate the new policy; they made the government have an entirely different understanding of its people.
After the war was won there
was a document made in 1781 called “The Articles of Confederation”. This st
ated
that the government was to have very little power. Many
thought that this was a good idea. They had been fighting
the war because of a strong government. “The Articles of
Confederation”
was put aside in the year of 1789. The rejection was not made by a politician,
but by hordes of angry farmers.
George Washington and the many newspapers made it clear to the world that the farmers were right about the government. The publicity spread the idea to many colonies that they should have a new kind of freedom. Soon other politicians felt the same way about the farmers. This lead up to the rising of a second constitution.
