Here are some facts about Conkey's Tavern:
Conkey’s Tavern was built in 1758 by William Conkey.
Daniel Shays plotted his famous rebellion against the Government of Massachusetts in Conkey's Tavern and other places.
The original inn sign, a gift from Maxwell L. Brainard and Charles B. Brainard is outside of the inn. The inscription said "From East Pelham”, and the date was 1758.
Conkey’s Tavern makes about $75,000 every year.
A Flagstone yard, inn-signs, and a new entrance to the tavern were all added in 1975.
There is a long barreled hanging gun over the fireplace, and the snowshoes and coonskin remind visitors of the cold New England winter.
Conkey’s Tavern was torn down for the Quabbin and was moved to Bath, England.
