Special Thanks to Dudley Bridges
Dudley Bridges, 77, of Amherst, Massachusetts, helped our class a lot with this website. We would like to thank him for his effort and time in helping us with the website. He knows a lot of information about the plaques, and he was generous enough to share that knowledge with us. He has fought for the plaque's right to being publicly shown.
"For a small town like Amherst to have that many fighting for a cause, (the tablets) should have been out there since they were made," he said. Our class agrees with this statement.
Mr. Bridges also said, "I don't think children know about black soldiers." This website is working to help people know about the Civil War Plaques of Amherst.
