Michael’s reflection!

One thing that I learned from this trip is that architects had different views and ideas some eighty years ago (not that surprising.) Another thing that happened on this trip was that we got to see the "special collections" part of the library, something that I have never seen until then! I think that there is much more history in the Jones Library than anyone in our class had ever realized, we found things I found hard to believe like the former library was only the size of a large room. There is a history still in the making at the Jones, and I was glad that I was able to partake in learning about the amazing history of a library and learn what they do not show to the unsuspecting public! One other event that took place was that we visited collection room and we took digital pictures (Julie let me take them) of things some people had never even seen before! A couple of times I had to realize I was in a library and quiet down but I just couldn’t contain myself it was so interesting the things they were teaching us!

This is my beautiful reflection on this project. First of all I would like to say that this was a very interesting project because I never knew that there was more to the Jones Library than just books. Every time I’ve gone to the Jones Library I have only gone to get books, not to get information on a certain topic. When we went to get information at the library I actually did help a little bit because I found Allen Cox’s first name and Michael says that I found it after the librarian helped me, but that isn’t true!

Anyhow, I think that if I hadn’t had gone on this field trip I would never had learned about lots of things like the old books and why you have to wear gloves to hold the books. I think that now that I know how to make a website my dad will like my help since my brother is going to college soon and now I know more about computers. Making a website is actually easier than it looks, but with three people it is hard because one member wouldn’t let us help when he was editing. When you were around he would act like we weren’t trying to do anything. I think two people would be better for group work

Reflections

I have learned a lot of facts from this project, and I also think that actually going to the place/building your going to, is a better way to learn all of the facts and stuff. I really didn’t like the way our group worked together, because there was three of us, and two of us got left work, and one person took over, and did all of the work. Other than that, everything was fine. I think that our website worked out fine, and I really like it. We had a lot of links, and pictures, and facts in our website. I think that anyone who looks at our website will like it. I think that our group worked the hardest on our website. The thing that I liked the most on this trip was, looking at the special collections place, that had all of those pictures, and books in that big case. I’ve learned a lot of stuff from this field trip, and I do think that I learned more from this trip, than I would’ve from a book. Making the website was really easier than I thought it would be. I thought that it would be really confusing to make it, but it’s actually kind of cool making a website.
