The History of the Jones Library
In 1921 a hotel was moved to make room for the Jones Library. They used the hotel as a library as the workers started constructing a more permanent library. The town of Amherst wanted it to feel like "Mother Amherst welcoming you into her living room." Putnam and Cox were the architects of the house and made it into the Jones Library.
