My reflection

I learned that the Jones Library took only one year to build. Also that the founder Samuel Minot Jones gave his money to the Jones Library when his son died. Also I learned that the Jones Library has a lot of old artifacts and information about the Jones Library and the town of Amherst. Also I learned that it was very old and it had a lot of renovations. Other things are also in the Jones Library like books and other stuff. Also I learned that a lot more then checking out books happens in the library. That is what I learned when I was at the Jones Library.

My Reflection

The funniest part of the experience of doing this subject was the field trip, we got to see the part of the Jones Library which rarely gets seen. It was exciting, we saw documents and pictures of the Jones Library and other information of the time period of when it was built; also we had to wear gloves so we couldn't get the oil in our hands on the paper, so the paper wouldn't deteriorate from the oil. We saw what the library looked like and what the library looked after being renovated.

Before I went on the field trip I didn't know who Samuel Minot Jones was, all I knew was that the library was named after a person. Now I know a lot about the library.

My reflections of the Jones Library constructions project.

First of all this project was very fascinating and fun. I learned a lot about how the Jones Library was built. I always knew there was something more to the Jones Library than books. If we never went on this field trip I would never have learned that the Jones Library was renovated twice or that Samuel Minot Jones had the idea of building of the library, etc.

Anyhow, before this unit I never knew how to make a web page and within doing this project I now know how to. Anyway, I had fun because it was an interesting project. I also liked it because I learned a lot of interesting facts about the Jones Library, like learning that the library wouldn’t have been built if Samuel Minot Jones didn’t donate money for the construction and so on.

I was especially fascinated in the special collection area. There I got to see what the outlines were for the first and the second constructions, how they were going to add on to the first construction, and how the Jones Library was changed.
