I learned that Samuel Minot Jones was a very wealthy man, and donated all his will money to the making of the Jones Library. The part I focused on was Samuel Minot Jones himself, and the other groups where Construction, Architects, Renovations, First Director, Miscellaneous history. It was really fun and I found out things about Sam Jones. For example, his son, Sam Jones Jr., died before he was 21 in World War I, so all the money from Sam Jones Sr.’s will went to the making of the Jones Library. Also, Samuel Jones was not from Amherst, he was from Enfield, Massachusetts, which is now buried under the Quabbin Reservoir.

I liked how we got to go into special collections. It was fun looking at all of the antiques that they kept there.

I also liked the different documentaries that the library has. For example, Mr. Jones’ will. Also, I liked the antiques that they kept there. They were kind of fun to look at.

I learned about Samuel Minot Jones. He was the founder of the Jones Library. He would have given the money to his son. But, he said that if his son didn’t die before the age of 21, he would give the money to him, but he died before that age during World War 1.

Before Samuel Minot Jones got married, he worked at a lumber exchange. That is how he got very wealthy. (I wish I was that rich.)

Also, I liked doing the web sites. Now I know that you can make web sites without being a professional at computers. You can make it at home! The Front Page 2000 is very cool. It was fun learning how people actually made web sites. I like the feeling that I know that there is a web page out there that I made, and people could be reading it right now!

What I learned in this project is that the founder gave lots of money to the Jones. He donated all his money to the Jones when his son died in World War I; what a tragedy! I also learned that they had to make lots of changes because almost everyday I think they get more books. They also had to make it larger so they could make more space for the books. I also learned that they had lots of staff so they can help people. Also I well learned how to take a picture with a digital camera. In addition I learned that there are some really old papers where you had to use gloves if you wanted to touch the papers. I also learned that watching a slide show at the Jones Library is really boring. They also told that there is more then 1 book in the library. I also knew that my partners were Pero and Jenae. I saw that Mike and Julie came with us. I too saw that Emily Dickinson used to play a violin, and that I used a buss to go back to school. By Isabel
