PREREQUISITE: EITHER 2-D OR 3-D FOUNDATIONS OF ART
Students in this course will learn to draw from observations such as still life, nature and figure drawing from imagination and from a combination of the two. The following concepts will be emphasized: composition, contrast, pattern, texture, volume and depth. Various drawing styles will be studied. Students will learn to use many drawing techniques such as, shading, pointillism, cross-hatching and ink washes. Many drawing materials will be explored, such as pens and ink, crayons, charcoal, pastels, graphite and colored pencils and markers.
