Sculpture

This course introduces students to concepts, methods, and materials for creative expression in three-dimensional form. Concepts taught include negative and positive space, form, shape, movement, texture, volume and balance. Techniques include both subtractive and additive methods. Most of the following materials will be used: wood, plaster, string, cardboard, wire and clay. In addition, students will be introduced to a variety of sculptures from different time periods and from different cultures.
