Computer Repair is an introductory apprentice course for students interested in exploring the basics of how personal computer (PC) technology works. Students learn to work safely using tools and information that is industry standard for working with computers.  There are many opportunities to perform “hands-on” lab work that strengthens the student’s ability to perform hardware & software installations.  The lab experiences also explore different areas of computer maintenance and repair, including hardware identification, installation, and configuration (CPU to network adapters); operating systems, significant differences from MS-DOS to Windows; routine procedures that optimize PC performance; troubleshooting techniques to identify and solve problems; network communications between computers; and multimedia enhancements and capabilities.
