PREREQUISITE: A MINIMUM OF C IN PRECALCULUS: TRIGONOMETRY AND ANALYSIS/HONORS OR CONFERENCE WITH DEPARTMENT HEAD
How fast is the volume of a sphere increasing when its radius is 5 m and is changing at the rate of 1 m/sec? How can one calculate the volume of a cucumber? This course explores these questions and more, providing students with a conceptual understanding of calculus. As these ideas are being explored, students will look again at important concepts of functions and their graphs. Investigations using graphing calculators and computers are included. The course provides students with a solid background for college calculus courses.
