First Aid and CPR

Course Description

First Aid and CPR 2 Credits

Not Offered in 2012-2013

JUNIORS AND SENIORS ONLY

Students will gain a basic understanding of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and world body airway management as well as basic first aid responder information.  The intent of the course is to help students to feel confident of their ability to act appropriately in the event of an emergency.  Students will learn to identify ways to prevent injury and/or illness and recognize when an emergency has occurred.  Students will be provided with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help keep someone alive, to reduce pain, and to minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. Successful completion of the course will result in a Red Cross Certification Card in CPR.
