LAB SCIENCE COURSE/3 TRIMESTERS
PREREQUISITE: SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF CHEMISTRY (HONORS RECOMMENDED)
In this course, students with a strong interest in the biological sciences have the opportunity to complete both introductory Biology and Advanced Placement Biology in 3 trimesters. It will incorporate at greater depth all of the topics included in the Honors biology course and will include additional areas, such as cellular energetics, population biology, and ecology. Extensive reading at the college level will be required. Students who enroll will be expected to complete a major unit during the summer before the course actually begins the following fall. Mathematical analysis of data will be an integral part of the AP Biology laboratory program. The curriculum will prepare the student for the CEEB AP exam, given in May. Note: this course is for students who have not yet taken a year of high-school biology.
