Environmental Science 9 209 2 Credits

The first trimester of this class is an ecological sequence. Students will be introduced to the importance of soils as the foundations of ecosystems, the flow of energy and matter through trophic levels in ecosystems, ecological communities and populations, and terrestrial biomes.  Labs in all units will emphasize some mathematical analysis. The remaining evaluations will include projects, tests, and homework.

The second trimester is an environmental science sequence. Students will be introduced to the history and demographics of human population growth and biodiversity decline, present and alternative forms of energy, water and soil management, and global atmospheric change. In each unit students will examine differing view points on key environmental issues. As with the first trimester, labs will emphasize some mathematical analysis. The remaining evaluations will include projects, tests, and homework.
