HIGH SCHOOL LAB SCIENCE CREDIT
PREREQUISITE: ALGEBRA (PRIOR TO TAKING COURSE OR CONCURRENT)
This course introduces students to the basic concepts involved in AC and DC circuits, the history of electronics, the applications of electronic devices, static electricity, and the effects of resistance, capacitance, current flow, electromagnetism, induction, and batteries. The students will spend time modeling circuits both mathematically and in reality on a breadboard. They will be learning how to use various test and measuring equipment as well as designing their own circuits, etching the circuit boards and soldering components. An eye for detail and an ability to work on a very small scale are crucial.
Science Credits: Students may count a maximum of four (4) credits earned in Electronics I for science credit toward their graduation requirement with permission of the Assistant Principal.
