This course provides an opportunity for students to explore the basics of wood technology.  While working with wood, students will study careers in the wood industry, learn lab safety, the use of basic hand and power tools, cabinet making techniques, and finishing. Approximately 70% of class time will be devoted to project and lab work, and students will work on 3 levels of projects throughout the term, one designed to use hand tools, one using machines and one using mass production Students will utilize many of the principles learned in science and mathematics courses in Woodworking Technology 1.
