German Intermediate II

German Intermediate II 445AB 4 Credits
German Intermediate II/Honors 445BB 4 Credits

NOTE: THIS COURSE COMPRISES THE THIRD AND FOURTH TRIMESTERS OF GERMAN INTERMEDIATE.

This course continues the development of understanding spoken German, the development of oral skills in activities that are structured, directed and free from translation, and the development of reading and writing skills as used in communication with and by native speakers. Illustrated grammar is used for "guided discovery" of grammatical rules underlying those parts of the language introduced. Special materials enable the learner to reach a standard of near-native proficiency in listening comprehension. Daily homework is required.

Honors Option: Students within this class have the option of electing the course at the honors level. In addition to the course description above, at the honors level, students will use a diversity of reading materials designed to increase contemporary vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Daily homework is required.
