NOTE: THIS COURSE COMPRISES THE FIRST TWO TRIMESTERS OF RUSSIAN INTERMEDIATE.

This course continues the development of basic language skills while reviewing material from the novice course. Supplementary materials are used increasingly to expand language structure, vocabulary and exposure to aspects of Russian culture in addition to a variety of audio-visual materials. Areas of culture covered include a discussion of Moscow and St. Petersburg and literature of the 20th century. Daily homework and term projects are required.

Honors Option: Students within this class have the option of electing the course at the honors level. In addition to the course description above, at the honors level, supplementary texts increase student language skills rapidly. Sound recordings, visual aids and teacher-created materials allow for exploration of Russian culture.
