Staff:

East Street Alternative High School (ESAH) is a small in-district day school program with low student to staff ratio that is designed to serve students who are experiencing social- emotional, behavioral and/or academic challenges in other educational environments. ESAH offers a high quality individualized self-paced education with a strong emphasis on community building, to ensure that each student has the opportunity for academic success and social emotional skills acquisition.

ESAH staff members work in collaboration with students, families and outside providers to help students achieve one or more of the following goals:

  • Students will successfully transition to a Less Restrictive Environment
  • Students will successfully complete Amherst Regional High School graduation requirements while attending the ESAH program
  • Students will successfully transition to the work force through attainment of functional academic, vocational, and independent living skills.

As part of the ESAH program, students are offered both individual and group skills counseling. In addition, ESAH students have access to internships, ALPS, and all high school sports and club opportunities.
