Loan Periods Expectations College Library Privileges |
HOURSMonday - Thursday 7:15 AM - 4:00 PM;Friday 7:15 AM to 3:00 PM CIRCULATIONOnly ARHS students and staff may check out library materials. Materials can be renewed if they are not needed by another patron. Loan Periods
Overdue MaterialsWeekly overdue reminders will be sent to A period classes twice. After 2 weeks, a letter will be sent home informing students that their computer accounts will be disabled until the materials have been returned, replaced or paid for. Replacement CostsReplacement prices for lost or damaged library materials are the same as the Jones Library system, and in most cases are less than the replacement cost of the items.
RULESExpectationsRESPECT for people in the library, the facility and its materials is the basis for all library behavior. The library is a place for thoughtful, quiet, focused academic pursuits. Students who can not maintain the "libraric" atmosphere will be sent back to their study or class. No food or drink is allowed in the library with the exception of bottled water, kept capped and on the floor. Computer UseThe school computer Acceptable Use Policy will be strictly enforced. No chat, games or downloading is permitted. E-mail is acceptable only for school use to send or receive documents being used for school purposes. Students found using the computers inappropriately will have their accounts disabled for two weeks for the first offense, 4 weeks for a second offense, and indefinitely for any future misuse. Please limit printing to 4 pages. Options to printing are taking notes, cutting and pasting to a word document, or e-mailing an article to yourself at home. If a computer malfunctions, please report it to a member of the library staff immediately. Students should not give out their account passwords, and should not allow anyone to use their account. PASSESStudents who are not with a class must have their own purple library pass, completely filled out and put in the basket at the desk when they arrive in the library. Library passes can be obtained from your academic teachers and will be issued when your teacher has assigned you work that requires use of library materials. Students should report to their study with their pass, the study teacher will co-sign the pass, and you can then report to the library. Unless your teacher specifically writes on the pass that you are to return to class or study, students will be expected to stay in the library for the whole period. Study teachers have browsing passes, good for a 10-minute visit to the library during your study period. To leave the library during the period you must sign out in the book at the desk, and ask for the bathroom pass. When you return, sign back in with the time and return the pass. Misuse of passes will result in a one-month library suspension and referral to the dean. To use the library during your lunch period, leave your student ID with the monitor in the library. The library is open to lunch students when there is room. SERVICESPhotocopier - .10 per copy. For reference books, you may copy 3 pages for free.
