Amherst Regional High School operates on a trimester schedule. There are five class periods in a day. Each class meets every day, for an hour or for a ninety-minute long period. The day of the week determines which class will meet for the long period. See class meeting times.
The first lunch period begins at 10:00 am each day, unless a special schedule is in effect. Lunch periods are 30 minutes long, and are assigned to classes by department. See lunch assignments.
Once a month, the school day for students begins at 10:00 am instead of 7:45 am, to allow time for teachers to work on curriculum and school-wide issues. On these Late Arrival days, we follow a special schedule.
In the event of inclement weather, the opening of school may be delayed by one hour or two hours. On those days, all five classes meet for a shortened period of time, according to this special schedule.
Exams occur during the last week of each trimester. During the exam period, we follow a special schedule.
