Sophomores, juniors and seniors - The Center for Environmental Civics is offering summer institutes with a focus on environmental issues and advocacy. They take place at Amherst College this summer - July 8-12 and Smith College July 22-26. See a video of last year on http://vimeo.com/52469823. The award-winning film Somewhere Between, will be showing at Amherst Cinema on Sun April 28 at 2pm. The movie captures the lives of 4 Chinese adopted girls, now teenagers, exploring their identities. GSA will meet the Monday after break in room 175 to plan for this year’s Pride March in May in Northampton! All are welcome!

Review sessions for the AP Physics exam will begin TODAY, Friday, April 12. We will meet in Room 223 at 2:30.

Become a Junior Volunteer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital this summer. Applications and parent permission form packets are in the Guidance Office. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 3. Mandatory orientation is Friday June 28th.
Amherst College is hiring high school students to work at their Commencement and Reunion May 24-June 2. Pick up application materials in the Guidance Office.

Seniors - there is a new $300 local scholarship that was not listed in the Booklet. From the Hampshire Co. Sherriff’s Office, The Robert J Garvey Scholarship is for a student “who has shown by his or her volunteer actions, a commitment to improving and preserving the quality of life in the school and/or community.” The scholarship is not based on financial need. You may email using the same application as the others. Deadline April 22nd.

HAIKU CLUB is back and will have its first meeting of the spring on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 2:30 PM. Spring Rolls and really good green tea served with talk of our plans. Come to Room 115 and chill out, find out about this really cool club.

The Jones library is having a dance with a DJ which will be free of charge tonight, Friday evening April 12, at 7:00 pm going until 9:30 pm in the Woodbury Room. Entrance will be at the back of the building by the parking lot.
They also have a Teen lounge on Friday afternoons from 3-5:00 pm in the Woodbury Room for kids to socialize. They have a few laptops available for internet use.
