Students will be given time in class to work on Assignment #2 for Literature Groups.  Assignment # 2 will be due this week.  We will be spending time in discussion groups—make sure you read and re-read so you are ready to contribute to the book talks!  Independent Reading Response (formerly called ‘quiz’ ) on  NEXT Tuesday for all!!!

Assign # 2 for Lti group due this week.  Check assign. book for your special due date

Read for 10-15 min FIVE TIMES…response in class for all TUESDAY OCT 16 !@!#@!@

Science

This week we will use an analogy learning how cell is like a factory or like a school.  Once we have the basics, we will compare different kinds of cells in order to learn how to classify them into Kingdoms.  .

HW:  Cell Analogy, Directed Reading pages 170-175, keep bringing in clear, clean 2-liter soda bottles

 

 

Social Studies

Transition week. We reflect on the 5 Themes Unit before launching the new Environments (Biomes) Unit. Discuss student news teams and some current events.  Examine political cartoons. Learning Styles Inventory in class. Begin some work on Geography – Weather and Climates
