We welcome you to join us for a presentation for parents and guardians by Jessica Minahan, M.Ed., BCBA on Reducing Anxiety in Kids.  Ms. Minahan is working with our district personnel to co-sponsor this event by ARPS and SEPAC, and we would like to extend this learning opportunity to the public.  This FREE presentation will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6 - 8 pm in the ARMS Auditorium.  An announcement will be sent out as the school year begins but we wanted to give advance notice so all could mark their calendars. Amherst-Pelham Regional High School Graduate Gihan  Amarasiriwardena completes a cycling trip across the US from Boston to San Francisco in 38 days. We congratulate Gihan on such an astonishing accomplishment. Read more on the Daily Hampshire Gazette at: https://goo.gl/n8FbQ9.  

So, how did our school get its name “Summit Academy?"  It was derived from the location of our school, in particular its location next to the Mt. Holyoke Range. With the name change, our school undertook a school challenge to hike local mountain ranges in the Pioneer Valley and to reach the summit of those mountains.

As part of Summit Academy’s outdoor education programs, this year many of our students and staff spent a fun-filled day outdoors at Morse Hill in Amherst.  They participated in meaningful team-building activities, from rope course challenges to adventure activities.
