Sara Barber-Just explained, "Students loved his book as it moved them, changed them, challenged them, awakened them, and comforted them. It showed them what language and vulnerability have the power to do. We are so grateful that he was willing to stop by ARHS to talk about art, life, queer and Asian identity, ‘the architecture of language,’ and how he ‘curates joy.’"

 

The English department rolled out the red carpet and he was deeply impressed by the students.

On September 24, 2019, English Language Learners from ARMS, from Ms. Lopez’s and Ms. Hopkins’s social studies and English classes, hiked the Robert Frost trail near the Atkins reservoir for nature exploration!
