MINUTES FROM MEETING #3 OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE (EMERGENCY)

Friday, October 16, 2009, Professional Development Center, Regional Middle School

This meeting was held to review the information provided at the two public forums on redistricting, consider feedback and suggestions from the public, and discuss plans for presentation at the School Committee meeting of October 28.

Review of Redistricting Maps

Doug reviewed each of the maps developed before Redistricting Forums were held, and those developed as a result of the forums held thus far. Concerns of the public were considered, including the following:

· Creation of islands within the East Hadley Road area.

· Desirability of keeping the Mark’s Meadow community together in one location.

· Concerns about the impact of eliminating language clusters

· Possible movement of Blue Hills Road area to Crocker Farm School

· Redistricting for economic equity
