Several changes have been made since the Town Meeting Hall was built. The paneling was one of the things added later. After the pulpit was built 2 fluted pilasters were built.(fluted pilasters are rectangular columns with grooved cut around them for decoration) They were painted bright to deep blue before the rest of the interior was painted. The pilasters still exist with a carved shell design on the necking. The interior walls were paneled using 8 foot long boards sometime in 1773. Another thing done in 1773 was enclosing the post and beams along the walls and the braces on the gallery level in beaded cases using hand wrought nails. The upper floor remains as it was in 1845 including the spindled benches. In the mid-1900's a kitchen was built against the east wall on the main floor. It was painted cream. The shed attached to the southwest corner was also built during this time. In the 1970's the fireplace on the first floor was rebuilt. This is the last thing that I know that I have not told you that was added later.
