Timeline
1739- Ten acres set aside for Meeting House lot, burying place and training field.
1741- Contract was made with Thomas and John Dick to build the Meeting house.
1743- 3 galleries, framed stairs, floor, open seating
1743- Pulpit authorized by town meeting on May 26; it was built for 84 pounds
1743-April 19th the first town meeting held
1746-public school held in the meeting house
1766- Pews built they were box pews which held 2 families each
1769-roof shingled
1794-installed pulpit window
1794-interior was painted light gray
1799- First horse sheds built
1818- porch was added for more seating
1830- a stove was installed in the meetinghouse
1839- the meetinghouse was "moved back into the old burying ground"
1845- the meetinghouse was moved again, northward 30 feet or mor so the newly constructed church would stand out
1845- floor was built between the galleries; glass put in the windows of the galleries; and a chimney built from the upper floor to the top of the roof. In the southeast corner, a 16 x 12 ft space was finished off to serve as a hearse house. A ramp was built to the floor level
