Model Professional Development Grant

TLC-The Technology Literacy Connection

Paul Lipman - $17,300

The Pelham Model Professional grant allowed 10 teacher-leaders to study early literacy software that enhanced the reading/writing curriculum for the primary grades. These 10 teacher-leaders then learned how to present workshops and gave presentations to other district primary teachers.

The grant funds were used to provide honorariums for the teacher-leaders and to purchase the software. The grant also funded a laptop computer for teachers to use for their presentations, additional desktop computers for classrooms, a color laser printer, a digital camera, and a scanner.

Adopting Best Practices Grant

Medieval Times Web Page

Judy Brooks - $13,650

Pelham School adopted the Crocker Farm webmaster, Mrs. Mary Streeter, to assist in the development of a school website. The site will be a portal to the school, but will also be used for links directly to the classroom curriculum. Mrs. Judy Brooks, Pelham third grade teacher, will use her third grade page as a way for her students to access sites about the Middle Ages without having to search the Internet on their own.

Grant funds purchased a digital camera, a scanner, software, and five desktop computers.
