Policy BBBC: School Committee Member Resignation
AMHERST SCHOOL COMMITTEE AND PELHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE:
Resignations from the School Committee will not become effective unless and until the resignation is filed with the town clerk.
AMHERST-PELHAM REGIONAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE:
When a member of the Regional School Committee resigns as a member of his/her respective School Committee of Amherst, Pelham, Shutesbury, or Leverett, then his/her resignation also will be effective from the Regional School Committee.
When a Regional School Committee member representing Pelham, Shutesbury, or Leverett resigns from serving on the Regional School Committee only (while continuing to serve on the member town’s School Committee), he/she will report his/her resignation to the chair of his/her respective town’s School Committee. That town’s School Committee will select a member of the School Committee to fill the vacancy on the Regional School Committee.
