 Introductory Statement

           One document that I use as a reference for acceptable network use is the policy in our student handbook.  The rules are specific about using the network (and the cable television) for curricular use only.  I try to hold myself to the same rules by which the students must abide.

            Some teachers don't see this as an important rule to follow, but students notice how their teachers respect the rules and follow their example.  That is why when students ask me to turn on the television, I make clear that the television is only there to enhance the curriculum, not for entertainment.

        I am very aware of internet and other resource policies.  Our handbook is specific about expectations for ethical use.  That is why I create as many assignments as possible, so that I can make copies freely.

          A challenge for me is to maximize the use of the resources available.  Using them in an unacceptable way is not a big problem for me.
