Standard F.D: Communication

 Introductory Statement

This is an in class assessment in which students are evaluated based on how well they communicate their understanding of exponents and roots.  I created this lesson to accommodate for students whose strengths are verbal.

I've found that students who tend to do poorly on written assessments find an opportunity to excel in this project because it is different and exciting for them.  Likewise, students who traditionally do well on written tests are challenged in this activity to communicate out loud what they seem to know so well on tests.

  Discussion Project

 Reflective Statement

Communicating math is a skill that I implement in all my lessons.  For example, I won't give full credit unless the solution is explained clearly to me.
