Standard F.B: Problem Solving

 Introductory Statement

           This is a classic problem that I turned into a class activity about building gates to protect an area from bears.  It involves finding unknown lengths of polygons using problem solving and algebra skills.  Students enjoy this activity because they act out the problem and use critical thinking skills.

           This is an activity designed to challenge students' problem solving skills while introducing the concept of single variable equations.

 Reflective Statement

        I have a collection of problems that students enjoy and think critically to solve.  I don't use these as often as I should, but when I do implement them I try to associate them with the unit we are doing at the time.
