 Introductory Statement

The following is an assignment in which I require students to research and report what they have learned about quadratic equations.  They must organize, analyze and synthesize their understanding of quadratics.

Students often complain about doing a report in math class, but it is an excellent way to stimulate mathematical thought and challenge students to represent their knowledge in a creative way.

 Reflective Statement

There are a variety of ways to represent mathematical solutions, and I often encourage students to be creative in how they do this.  However, it is difficult to remain clear about exactly what I am looking for when I ask for a solution.
