Project Challenge Course Expectations 08-09

 

Project Challenge Mission Statement                                                                

 

The mission of Project Challenge is to support students who are committed to pursuing a demanding academic schedule by promoting academic and personal responsibility and fostering mentor-student relationships.

 

Expectations for Students:

 

          - Maintain appropriate materials and notebooks for all classes

 

          - Regular completion of assignments for all classes

         

          - Study skills goal setting - set at least one concrete goal per trimester to improve in an academic area such as  time management, test

                                                          taking, reading, writing, note taking or student-teacher communication.

 

-  Participation in an extracurricular activity 2 of the 3 trimesters (sport, arts, community service, club)

 

 

Project Challenge mentors will:

 

          - foster mentor-student relationships

 

          - hold regular conversations with students to monitor academic progress

 

          - solicit regular feedback from academic teachers

 

          - provide regular updates to parent and guardians on academic progress

 

          - provide subject area support or access to academic support

 

          - facilitate study skills goals and strategies for achieving goals
