This introductory one-trimester course is designed to help students develop presentation skills in visual/graphic arts and publications. Using industry standard applications such as Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, ImageReady and InDesign, students will study the elements of graphic design and layout. Students will learn how to integrate text and images to produce high quality publications and computer-based presentations. Students will learn how to acquire and create images with digital cameras and scanners and will acquire the skills to manipulate those images using digital software. Projects include photo retouching, web graphics, animated banners, business cards, brochures, page layout, etc. It is recommended that students be able to type at least 20 words per minute.
