Grading Rubric:

  • Text manipulation (15%). You must use type along a path or change text into outlines and manipulate the shapes in a creative way. Make sure your fonts are expressive and creative. Emphasize important words using the techniques you learned about with the Mission Statement project.
  • Artwork (50%). The card must include at least two illustrations. These illustrations may be traced, but may not be rasterized (no pixels). To make your artwork look three dimensional, use color gradients.
  • Logo (10%). Design a logo for your own greeting card company (Gao Greetings, Clark Card Co., etc.) on the back of the card. The logo can be no larger than 2" x 2".
  • Bar Code and price (5%). Trace the pixelated bar code on the template using the line tool.
  • Professionality (20%). The card should look like something that people would actually want to buy. The subject matter needs to be appropriate.
